App feasibility assessment
You've got an idea for an app. You think it's a good one. Before you put thousands into building it, it's worth finding out whether it is.
That's what our Discovery Workshop is for. We shape the idea with you, give it an honest technical read, and write down a verdict: build it, not yet, or don't. It costs £2,500. If you then commission a build from us, £1,250 comes off the price.
What it costs
| Discovery Workshop | £2,500 |
| Credit if you commission a build | £1,250, if you go ahead within 60 days of the verdict |
Who this is for
Founders and owner-managers who know the problem but not yet the product, or who have an idea nobody has pressure-tested against what it would take to build. If you can already describe what you want clearly enough to price, you don't need this: skip to a fixed-price build.
Who it isn't for
If you already have an app and want it checked, that's an audit. If you want a market research report or a legal opinion, this isn't that. We'll tell you where those questions are, but we're not the people to answer them.
What you get
A shaped idea: who it's really for, the problem it solves and what the smallest real version looks like. The single riskiest assumption underneath it, and what it would cost to test. A technical feasibility read: whether we can build it within a normal engagement, any red flags on integrations or infrastructure, and roughly where it sits on cost and time. And a written verdict of one to two pages, so the answer exists somewhere other than in the room.
Both of us read the verdict before it goes to you.
The feasibility read is a sanity check, not technical due diligence. We'll say so in the verdict.
The three verdicts
Build. The idea is real enough to scope. It feeds straight into a fixed-price scope and nothing gets explained twice.
Not yet. One specific, named thing has to be answered first, and we say what it is.
Don't build. We say why, plainly. The engagement ends there, and that's a fair result.
How it works
- Free discovery call. We hear the problem and decide whether the workshop is the right next step.
- Intake. You send what exists: notes, screenshots, a competitor you like, half a brief. We sort it into what you've said, what's open and what we're assuming.
- The session. A half day with you, on-site or remote, and then a follow-up session afterwards. We shape the idea and name the riskiest assumption.
- The written verdict. We aim to send it within 5 working days of the session.
- You decide. If it's a build, we scope it at a fixed price.
Questions people ask
What is an app feasibility assessment?
A check on whether an app idea is worth building, before you spend build money on it. Ours looks at who it's for, what the smallest real version would be, whether it's buildable and roughly where it sits on cost and time, and names the one assumption most likely to sink it.
How much does it cost?
£2,500. If you go on to commission a fixed-price build with us within 60 days of the verdict, £1,250 of that is credited against the build.
What if the answer is don't build it?
Then that's the workshop working. You get the reasoning in writing, you haven't spent build money on the wrong thing, and there's no credit because there's no build. The fee covers the answer.
Does it cover legal and regulatory questions?
We'll flag obvious ones, such as handling personal data under GDPR, but we're not lawyers and this isn't legal advice.
Is this the same as a technical audit?
No. The workshop reads whether an idea can be built. An audit looks at an app that already exists. If you've already built something, you want our audit instead.
How long does it take?
The session itself is a half day, on-site or remote, with a follow-up session afterwards. We aim to send the written verdict within 5 working days of the session.
