How we price
We'd rather give you real numbers than a guess dressed up as one. A blind estimate before the real unknowns are worked through isn't a quote, it's a guess with a currency symbol on it. Fixed price agreed before any code is written, senior delivery throughout (no juniors handed the project after the sales call), and you own everything at handover, code included.

For an idea that isn't shaped enough to scope yet. A focused session that turns it into something real enough to build: an honest technical read, a proper look at the architecture, and a verdict you can actually act on, even when that verdict is "not yet" or "don't build this."
£2,500 flat. If you commission the build within 60 days, £1,250 of that is credited straight off the build price. You're not paying twice for the thinking.
Common questions about building with us
What is a CMS, and do I need one?
A content management system lets your team change the words, images and pages on your site or app without asking a developer. You need one if content changes more than a few times a year, or if more than one person edits it. If the site is a brochure that changes once a year, you probably don't, and we'll say so.
What do you mean by web-based solutions?
Anything your customers or team use through a browser: client portals, internal tools, dashboards, booking and ordering systems. Nothing to install, works on any device, one codebase to maintain, and every update reaches everyone instantly.
Native or cross-platform mobile app?
Native means a separate app per platform, Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android: two codebases, and twice the cost every time something changes. Cross-platform means one codebase producing both apps. For almost every SME product, cross-platform is the right call. Native only earns its extra cost for heavy graphics, specialised hardware access or the tightest possible performance.
Why React Native?
One codebase for iOS and Android that produces genuinely native apps, not a web page in a wrapper. It shares its language and skills with the React web stack we build in, so the same team works across web and mobile and nothing gets lost in a handover between two teams. It also means your app is built on a mainstream, well-supported platform any competent developer can pick up later.
What are Uptick's kits, and what do they mean for me?

Can you add AI to something I already have?
Yes. Most useful AI work is a feature inside a product you already run: search that understands questions, documents summarised automatically, data entered once and classified for you. We build it into what exists rather than bolting on a demo, and we'll tell you honestly if AI wouldn't earn its place.
What happens if the project needs more than two people?
That's our problem, not yours. We agree the scope and the fixed price first, and staffing it is then on us. Mike spent years as a technology recruiter, and between us we have a network of former colleagues and friends covering design, mobile, data, infrastructure, QA and marketing, people we've worked with and would put our name to. When a build needs more hands than we run day to day, we bring them in under the same fixed price, with Mike and Paddy still the people you talk to. And if you need help getting to market after launch, that network covers it too.
Not the agency model. Better.
The real brief usually isn't "build an app." It's the underlying problem the app is meant to solve. That's a different, harder problem than most agencies quoting the work will treat it as.
